Stay Updated on the Latest Palm Oil Market Outlook The global palm oil market in 2026 is expected to remain firm, even as production growth moderates amid structural challenges, including aging trees, rising labour costs, and land-related disruptions. Meanwhile, robust imports from India in early 2026 have supported demand resilience, despite the continued softening of the EU market. Prices are therefore forecast to stay strong at USD 900–1,100 per tonne. Discover the full insights in the infographic. Palm Oil Market Outlook – February 2026 🔒 Exclusive to CPOPC Member Countries

Pakistan’s demand for palm oil continues to grow, projected to exceed 5 million tonnes before 2030. As one of the key edible oils supporting food security, SMEs, and household affordability, ensuring stable and sustainable supply is more important than imposing restrictions that may disrupt supply chains and escalate prices. In an interview with Business Recorder, CPOPC Secretary General Izzana Salleh highlighted how predictable trade policies, stronger collaboration between producing and consuming countries, and recognition of sustainability standards can help secure Pakistan’s food security in the future. Through facilitating structured dialogue, countering misinformation with credible evidence, and building mutual understanding, CPOPC aims to strengthen cooperation and ensure that sustainability, stable supply, and affordable food prices move forward together. Women are essential to the palm oil sector as workers, farmers, entrepreneurs, caregivers, and community leaders. This International Women’s Day, CPOPC spotlights examples from member countries that show how support for women can take many forms: safer workplaces, stronger rights awareness, new income opportunities, practical skills, healthcare access, and leadership development. These actions demonstrate that empowering women is not only the right thing to do but also a meaningful way to strengthen families, build more resilient communities, and support more inclusive growth across the palm oil value chain. #InternationalWomensDay2026 #IWD2026

On 3 March each year, we celebrate #WorldWildlifeDay Wildlife is more than just animals in the forest. It includes plants, ecosystems, and all living species on land that sustain life on Earth and form the foundation of biodiversity-based resources that meet human needs, from food and fuel to medicines, housing, and clothing. Protecting wildlife means protecting our shared future. One example of this commitment was when CPOPC, together with #YEAs, had the opportunity to visit Salat Island, where firsthand insights were gained into the sustainable efforts within the oil palm industry and the importance of environmental conservation. At Salat Island, orangutan conservation initiatives are jointly managed by an oil palm company (PT. SMSS) and NGO (BOS Foundation), demonstrating how collaboration can contribute to wildlife protection and habitat preservation. On this World Wildlife Day, let us continue to promote solutions where development and conservation move forward together.🦧🐘🐅🦒🦅🐋🌳🌴🤝🏻✨ #WorldWildlifeDay #Biodiversity

Participating in Group 1 on “Promoting Inclusive and Sustainable Industrialization,” CPOPC highlighted practical and implementable levers from the palm oil sector to advance inclusive value-chain integration, including aggregation models and cooperative mechanisms that enable smallholder participation in formal supply chains. CPOPC emphasized that such approaches strengthen distributional outcomes, enhance productivity, and support inclusive industrial upgrading, thereby accelerating progress towards SDG 9. The agro-industrial model was presented as a policy-relevant recommendation to advance SDG 9 implementation in the Asia-Pacific region.

CPOPC’s Director of Sustainability and Smallholders, Mr. Antonius Yudi Triantoro, joined the Training for Responsible Agricultural Chain Young Experts (TRACE) to introduce the Global Framework of Principles for Sustainable Palm Oil (GFP-SPO). During the session, CPOPC highlighted the GFP-SPO as a key reference in advancing sustainability across producing countries and the importance of stronger regional and international cooperation, positioning CPOPC as a platform for dialogue, policy coordination, and collective advocacy. CPOPC emphasized that sustainability must rest on a shared understanding between producing and consuming countries. Balanced and mutually agreed approaches are essential to avoid policy fragmentation that may disrupt trade and impact global food security. CPOPC remains committed to bridging perspectives, fostering inclusive dialogue, and advancing practical pathways toward resilient and sustainable agricultural value chains. 🌴🤝 TRACE is a program training led by the @PerekonomianRI of Indonesia aimed at equipping young professionals with knowledge on responsible and sustainable agricultural value chains. It was supported by the UNDP–UK FCDO FAST Project, and organized by Coexist Academy and Aman Terra.

The CPOPC mission to Africa to Abuja, where Nigeria’s discussions with CPOPC focused on both membership transition and the urgent economics of domestic production. Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Maitama Tuggar said the country’s status transition should be advanced promptly, while Agriculture and Food Security Minister Abubakar Kyari drew attention to the country’s estimated US$600 million annual palm oil import bill. He said stronger cooperation with CPOPC member countries could help Nigeria access climate-smart and resilient seed varieties needed to raise output, while better yields, stronger smallholder support and deeper private-sector participation could help reduce import dependence, create rural jobs and expand agro-processing. CPOPC Secretary-General, Mdm. Izzana Salleh emphasized that the mission reflects the true spirit of meaningful South–South cooperation, sharing practical solutions and expertise to strengthen food security, together. 🤝🌴🇳🇬
