@queenofironyRN From that point on I was able to let off the leash a bit, and gradually allow him more autonomy as he began to master the skills required. It can be awkward, especially with someone who has experience elsewhere, but a more hands-on approach might help build that base. Good luck!

@queenofironyRN Before I was a nurse I was an air traffic controller, and I worked with a trainee who was really struggling. I ended up switching to a mode where I did a lot of hand-holding and direct instruction, until he learned the basics.

@alphabetsoupy Yep, poor guy has CHF and pulmonary hypertension, and lately he's had some runs of SVT. So they put him on diltiazem a couple weeks ago and are now running this to make sure he's got good rate control.
He's a gold plated dog at this point :)
