John Steinbeck is another author you’re introduced to, and you just fall completely in love with his writing. He writes so beautifully, East of Eden is such a masterpiece.

What makes personal libraries special, in my opinion, is that every book I own has a story. I either purchased it myself or someone gave it to me, which makes it very meaningful. Book by book, I’ve built my library, and each one represents a choice or a memory.

The older you get the more you’ll realize that everything really is that deep. the people you confide in, trust, date, become friends with, the opportunities you take. What you watch & listen to. What you eat & even what you consume mentally, emotionally & spiritually.

Your brain doesn't just need caffeine. It also needs constant exposure to: Dostoevsky’s holy despair Kafka’s existential unease Sylvia Plath’s fragile storms Wilde’s beautiful arrogance Jane Austen’s quiet wit Camus’ sunlit absurdity Virginia Woolf’s flowing consciousness

if you are bored and need to leave the house, i cannot emphasize enough how you should just go to the library. just take a walk to your local library. have a little browse. truly the community equivalent of retail therapy.
