Discovering Music Together! Watch as Ksenia and her daughter Ariadne explore the world of music through fun and educational instrument flash cards. Here's why this family bonding time is more than just play: Educational Fun: Learning about different instruments not only boosts memory but also enhances cognitive skills. It's a playful way to introduce children to new sounds and cultures. Musical Bonding: Playing and learning music together strengthens family ties. It’s an activity that fosters patience, teamwork, and shared joy, creating lasting memories. Creativity and Expression: Music education opens up avenues for creativity. Ksenia and Ariadne are not just learning names; they're exploring how each instrument tells a different story through sound. Life Skills: Engaging with music teaches discipline, concentration, and the importance of practice – lessons that translate well beyond the world of music into everyday life. A Legacy of Music: By sharing this experience, Ksenia is passing down a love for music, potentially sparking a lifelong passion in Ariadne. Let's inspire each other to make music a part of our family moments! Whether it's through flash cards, singing, or actual instruments, every note played together is a step towards a melodious family life. #homeschool #musiceducation

There are two directions kids can go with AI. They can use it to get out of doing the thinking, or they can use it to build something they couldn't build before. I'm not sure most kids know the second option exists. Feels like something worth changing.

The number of men who read for pleasure has been plummeting for years. But this Maryland group, mostly in their 70s, is defying the odds. “It’s worth taking the time to read books,” Dan Mozena said. Even if it’s in a friend’s living room. wapo.st/48wUluz

This video demonstrates the absurdity of contemporary Christian music today, that is the same tune, different words, and its meaningless messages like Bethel and Hillsong. It’s all about feelings.

You hear this and students will rightly conclude that they would be better off using AI for their university essays. End of education! 😳

The idea that one reads simply to “understand the summary” misses the point and it’s depressing to see people in the industry pushing this idea You read for the prose. The love of the language. To savor the unfolding story. The point of reading isn’t to get through books quickly
Ann Bauer@annbauerwriter

"Americans aged 18 to 29 read an average of 5.8 books in 2025, the lowest of any generation." The industry has responded with "companion books" - AI summaries that allow people to pretend they've read. They're pushing you toward illiteracy. Push back! kristinmctiernan.com/companion-book…

@tishray Instead, we are giving tools to children that will ultimately replace their need for critical thinking, creating, or learning altogether.

There is something fundamentally wrong with how we educate the young now. Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein at 18. Tolstoy published his first novel at 24. Napoleon was a general at 24. Pascal invented a calculator at 19. Mozart composed symphonies at 8. The common factor? All classically educated and trained. They were immersed in Greek and Latin, philosophy, mathematics, music, and history before adulthood.

This is the result of humans always thinking there’s a saving technology that will revolutionize everything and roll it out without testing, moderation, or caution. Unleashing AI into schools without the proper testing as to the effect on students is reckless at the very least and shows that the desire to be “innovative” surpasses the desire to do the right thing. They thought every child having a Chromebook was a solution but never thought to test it. Technology has its place and can serve as a great tool, just not a solution to everything as was hoped.
Andy Smarick@smarick

In 10 years, we'll realize young adults can't read, write, or think as well as they should. We'll wonder how we allowed students to offload huge chunks of their learning to AI. Today we're just watching it happen. This is the most obvious unforced error of our time.

Did you know that April is my 4 year anniversary of becoming a Christian? 💕✝️ I didn't want the month to go by without commemorating and sharing 4 of the many things I have learned in 4 years of being a Christian - how my life has felt so much calmer and more blessed. Talking to God regularly, having this relationship in my life, has made all the difference, and I wish this kind of peace happiness for everyone reading this message. May you have blessed day and feel God's love in your heart! 🙏

Do they even have a senior editor at the NYT that even reads the articles before they publish them anymore? This has to be satire.

I talked to a woman today who runs a local program that supports elementary schools in our area. She had posted on Facebook they were looking for children’s book donations. I reached out, shared that I am a used book seller and found out they gift 10,000 books a year to local kids. Their source? They buy on eBay. She asked for a link to my eBay storefront. Instead, I offered to donate books to supply their entire program for the year. And I can confidently tell you… This is my greatest accomplishment in my business to date.

It's been 7 months since we had our baby and we're still receiving unexplained hospital bills in the mail. Hardly ever an adequate description of services. Just a QR code to pay online. It feels intentionally confusing and difficult to get answers. We want price transparency.

Who would have thought that by limiting screen time, it would benefit students? 🤨 Hope we continue to see more of this in more school districts.
