@LostInVisionss during that time, anime is getting popular and the new trend thing and movies like these is seen as kids stuff. i was there when it happened, everyone abandoned these in favor of anime. we literally killed it by choice.

@MurdocksMother marvel has successfully popularized non mainstream characters like magik, and at the same time people still don't know who animal man or plastic man is because DC is just playing it safe with batman and evil supes(injustice)

@puchiba52 the diversity helps a lot. manga tends to have multiple months or years of hiatus, bad plot twist that results in angry readers, etc. and since it's one author, you cannot change it. meanwhile comics can be diverse enough that one bad comic run is just a droplet in an ocean.

なので、アメコミで自分の好きな作品や自分に合う作品を読む為には色々考えなきゃいけない。 それが面倒であると同時に、好きなキャラと好きなライターと好きな絵師が全部揃う奇跡を味わう時もある。 一長一短だね。

漫画の名作は例えばワンピースは同じ作者が書いてるから基本的に同じ絵柄と同じ面白さが保証される。ワンピースが好きになったらワンピースを読み続ければ良い。 けどアメコミは例えばスパイダーマンを担当する作者が複数人居るから絵柄も面白さも種類は色々で玉石混交。

Adding onto my previous post, 70s fantasy and earlier were absolutely packed with variety. High concepts where it seemed that the only real limits were one's imagination. As a reader and author, this is what I live for.

@MizukaOhsaki you're getting it wrong. the lineage of elves are as follows: myths(thuatha de danann) > novels(king of elfland's daughter, the broken sword) >then DnD > then modern and contemporary stuff the thing is, i would assume that for japanese audiences only know the modern ones.

@Nerdcognito you cannot blame the youth if the game becomes too much for them. instead, give them incentives to gain future interest in wanting to play them. start with small, like dungeon mayhem, then with simple narrative game like risus. walk first before you run.
