🌷Spring officially arrived at 10:46 AM ET

Very sad news. My "home" for 25 years at @CBSNews, CBS News Radio, is shutting down. Feeling bad for all my colleagues who are losing their positions at CBS today.

It feels like just a dream. My career's most formative years were spent at @CBSNewsRadio. The network reached Americans as far away as Guam, bringing reporting from the most far flung corners of the world for nearly 100 years from wars to moon landings. Goodbye to an icon.

Happy anniversary to this classic. ❤️🤟🏻

Welcome SPRING, officially.... We declared winter over yesterday, and now spring officially arrives at 10:46 a.m. with the vernal equinox. At this moment, the sun is positioned directly over the equator, bringing roughly equal day and night across much of the globe.

It’s only March 2026, and we’ve already lost some great actors. 🕊️

My daughter is finally at the age she wants to read my Junie b jones books. Clap for me!!!! This is a win!!! 😭😭😭

Confirmed with a release from ABC: last week’s episode of “American Idol” will air on Sunday night, 8-10 PM ET/PT. A fun idea while it lasted!

Now that we've declared winter over, let's look back it! Some cool stats: * Coldest Dec-Feb since 2002-03; first time Dec, Jan, and Feb were all colder than normal since 2009-2010. * If no more snow falls, the total in DC of 10.6" would be 3.1" below normal. But snow was on the ground longer than normal because of combo of Snowcrete and cold. * Midwest Regional Climate Center rated it a "severe" winter on its scale, level 4 out of 5, mainly because of the cold and long-lasting snow cover.

I hope that everyone sees this and has a good rest of 2026.

Very low-end severe threat (level 1/5 Marginal Risk) has been introduced by the SPC for tomorrow across the mid/upper Ohio Valley. It looks like just enough moisture may be in place ahead of a cold front to support a low-end risk for all hazards, including a brief tornado or two, in any storms that can develop tomorrow afternoon.

Interestingly, Nick at Nite's ratings have been gradually increasing since January. It's becoming one of the highest rated nets on cable and the second most watched Paramount cable net behind TV Land. They started the year off with averaging 220K and recently, 313K.
