Everyday it’s becoming more evident that the country is splitting down the middle on one side we have Christianity, Judaism and a mix of right leaning parties on the other side we have Islam Antifa and a collection of left wing parties. The following 3 things can all be true: 1. There are still many more targets Israel would like to strike in order to further degrade the Iranian threat and help create the conditions for regime change. 2. Israel never believed it could bring about regime change on its own – only the Iranian people can do that. 3. Even if the war ends this week, the outcome – a massive joint 🇺🇸🇮🇱 military operation that devastated Iran’s missile arsenal, nuclear program, military, and leadership – is a tremendous strategic accomplishment that almost no one could have imagined just a few years ago.

Trump negotiating with anyone in Iran solves a few issues. Because the IRGC is completely fractured as it's leadership has been decimated, it gives the guy negotiating with Trump defacto legitimacy. The guy negotiating becomes the leader, in a leaderless situation. Solves the issue of having to carry out a threat he may didn't want to do, or need to do yet operationally without looking weak. Causes chaos within the IRGC if some are negotiating and some are remaining hard liners. Fractures already splintered org. Gives political cover domestically that while the war is ongoing and escalating, it gives Trump the ability to convey he's doing the best he can for a diplomatic end. The politics matters just as much. Makes the GCC countries have to be publicly more enthusiastic and supportive of the war, last thing they want is this to end. I don't expect anything to come of it, in terms of any on the ground changes to the operation. But it's an interesting twist. I trust Trump whichever way he goes.
