Losing my spark at work feels like a different kind of depression.

I joined a group chat where apparently someone had been kicked out before I even arrived. One day, that person started begging to get back in. I didn't know them at all but watching the admin screenshot their messages and put them on display for everyone to laugh at genuinely hurt me. Like why does someone have to be humiliated publicly just for wanting to be part of a group? I stayed quiet but it bothered me. After a few days they were let back in. I didn't know them, they didn't know me, but I helped them in whatever way I could because that's just who I am. Helping people is not something I do for claps or returns, it's my purpose. Yesterday that same person accused me of lying and scamming. Me. I couldn't even process it at first. I have never scammed anyone in my life and the fact that someone I went out of my way to help would put that tag on me publicly and disrespectfully genuinely broke something in me for a moment. I started thinking maybe people don't deserve help. Maybe just let them struggle. Maybe kindness is a weakness. But I caught myself before I replied. Not because I had nothing to say. I had plenty. But she's a woman and responding the way I wanted to would've gone against everything I stand for. So I just left the group silently. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is walk away with your character still intact.
