I am looking for advisory committee members for the project below (on Disability, Rest, & Free Time). I'd be grateful to receive expressions of interest from racialised disabled people who have been engaged in campaigns/collectives that focus on racialisation & racism in the UK.

I guarantee more people have lost their jobs due to their Access to Work support being cut, than gained jobs when being supported by Job Centre unqualified work coaches.

The concept of the British middle class is conveniently elastic. On the one hand, it’s used to refer to anyone with a white collar job and a mortgage, on the other it’s defined as families with nannies and kids at private school who can somehow be presented as the national norm.

According to analysis by the JRF 55% of households in receipt of both PIP and UC Health are unable to even afford enough food to eat or to warm their homes-hardly living the life of luxury like we are told on a daily basis by the media.

I felt sick and angered for the worker while reading this awful story of employer surveillance and disbelief in his claims. Instead of being supported & the company changing its practices, they hired private so-called ‘investigators’ to follow him. £30k for this is way too low

...rather than going along with benefit cuts and often suggesting anyone can be good little worker bees of they just take responsibility, step out of the sick role and, oh, have a load of therapy that attracts extra funding for psychologists.

All the psychologists and other mh professionals who rail against medical model and deny illness would gain much more traction with survivors if they showed more interest in challenging attacks on the welfare state...

203 of us applied for the same, single job vacancy. I received a ‘high score’ in all 5 areas and still didn’t make it to interview. But, according to the government, media & social media, I’m just a ‘lazy, disabled person scrounging on benefits who doesn’t want to work’.

It really irritates me seeing these articles about PIP and fraud and people just assume it’s so easy to get PIP. I’ve had people assume I’m on benefits with my illness when I’m actually still trying to get PIP. We have to jump through so many hurdles. I’ve had no help at all.
