One of the verses that convinced me Muhammad was a false prophet is Quran 19:33: "Peace be upon me the day I was born, the day I die, and the day I will be raised back to life." According to this verse, Jesus speaks of three events: his birth, his death, and his resurrection. The problem? Muhammad later claimed that Jesus was never killed and never died. If Jesus never died, why is Jesus in the Quran blessing the day he dies and the day he is raised back to life? The usual response is that Jesus will die after returning in the future. But that creates an even bigger problem. Islamic tradition says Jesus will return, live like an ordinary man, die naturally, and be buried. Yet Quran 19:33 speaks of death followed by resurrection. Where is that resurrection in the Islamic story? The more you examine the Quran carefully, the harder it becomes to believe it came from an all-knowing God.
