TIME FOR NATIONAL RECONCILIATION, RE-ORIENTATION & RECONSTRUCTION The 2027 Presidential election is expected to be a major fight between PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU and his biggest challenger, ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR. It promises to be the battle of the Tians. A third force, hopefully, may show up, like it did in 2023, but not with enough fire power and tenacity to upstage, and obliterate, the two elder statesmen. This is why it has become pertinent, and urgent, for our dear party ADC to change the traditional way of playing politics by becoming a link between the old and modern, conservative and cosmopolitan tendencies, veteran politicians and technocrats in government. There's no better combination than this duo, assuring of a colorful blend. The North and the South will reunite in a game of ethnic & religious rivalries. The present combustive tensions, and absolute chaos, cannot be allowed to continue. It will consume all of us. The time has come to retrace our steps and return to the days of robust ideas, ideologies and inspirational figures. Our founding fathers such as Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, The Sardauna Sir Ahmadu Bello, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and others, tried their best, even if they were not perfect. Today, we've completely derailed from the legacies they bequeathed to us. The politics of gansterism has become unbearably malignant in our nation. This is the type of strong bridge we need between the North and the South. We must act before it is too late... AARE DELE MOMODU

Before politics, he built businesses. In politics, he built institutions. While others entered public office to acquire wealth, Peter Obi came with wealth, discipline, prudence, and a heart for service. His record is not built on propaganda but on measurable impact, accountability, and compassion for the people. This is what leadership looks like. A New Nigeria is POssible. Video credit: @drkenon2

Media Framing of Crime Along Ethnic Lines: Divisive. As an Igbo man, I have endured stereotypes, judgment, and labelling solely based on my ethnic origins. This is not an isolated Igbo experience. Most Nigerians have, at some point, been reduced to their ethnicity rather than recognised for their true character. I understand the pain of the ordinary Fulani man today, often unfairly judged by the actions of criminals he does not support, has never met, and who are not representative of his people. Even in America, such unjust labelling fueled the civil rights movement and prompted Martin Luther King Jr. to declare that people should be judged by the content of their character, not the colour of their skin. Every Nigerian ethnic group is known for its unique traditions, occupations, skills, and strengths. Crime, however, has no ethnicity. A thief is a thief. A terrorist is a terrorist. A kidnapper is a kidnapper. They are bad actors, not representatives of any people. They must be identified, arrested, and punished according to the law. We must decisively abandon the dangerous practice of blaming entire ethnic groups for the actions of a few criminals. It is unjust, it breeds hatred, and it damages our national unity. Let us proudly celebrate our diverse cultures, talents, and contributions, rather than falling prey to stereotypes and prejudices that politicians and divisive interests exploit for their gain. A new Nigeria must emerge—one where no citizen is condemned because of tribe, religion, or birthplace. We can cherish our cultural roots while standing united by justice, mutual respect, and hope for a better future. We are capable of this. A new Nigeria is within our reach. -PO

Silence is complicity. On many occasions, Kanuri imams during Friday sermons and Kanuri activists and scholars have publicly condemned Boko Haram’s actions. In fact, many Kanuri youth have volunteered as a civilian joint tasks force, vigilante group and lost their lives fighting them—even though they are their own brothers because they know their actions are wrong and unjustifiable. The Kanuri community has also distanced itself from and rebuked the criminals among them. They helped by fishing them out and handing them to security forces. By contrast, some Fulani voices have not done the same. A number have even defended their kinsmen’s actions, describing them as ‘reprisal attacks.’ The chairman of Miyetti Allah cattle breeders will not address his people instead he will support them in front of the camera. Given this difference, ethnic profiling becomes inevitable. N/B: I am never in support of ethnic profiling, I am only trying to navigate why there was no ethnic profiling in Kanuri but there is in Fulanis.

Always find it ridiculous when people put ‘Fulani’ in front of the names of these bandits terrorizing everyone, including the Fulani themselves. Did the Fulani ethnic group ask them to terrorize people? Nobody ever says ‘Kanuri Boko Haram’ or ‘Igbo armed robber’. Why Fulani?

Your boss failed woefully in security, economy, and poverty alleviation. He should resign immediately. apc should never be allowed in aso villa again. They have destroyed every fabric of development in Nigeria since 2015. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Daddy D.O🇳🇬@DOlusegun

My boss has taken full responsibility for the incident and has been on top of rescue efforts. At no point did we mention Seyi Makinde and unlike GEJ and the PDP in 2014, we never denied that the incident is a made up lie. Stop twisting history to justify your lack of humanity

Communities that fight back are disarmed or arrested. So I will die and be buried on the hill that this ethnic cleansing, this terrorism is government sponsored. The APC government has a deal with terrorists. Your government is terrorizing you.
