This is more about the recovery than the block. As we like to say; 1.a) Block & 1.b) Recovery. Goal is to prevent the runner from advancing. The conviction we inject into our recovery must be at our best speed.
If you’re a coach, instructor or mentor…avoid words or phrases like: me, I, should, when I played. Just pretty much avoid talking about YOU. Your opinions do matter, but coaching is guiding - no one needs a sob story about how you ALMOST made it. Or, better, I did it this way.
