Food delivery drivers are especially busy over the weekend.
But under current laws, they're often paid less than the minimum wage and have none of the rights of other workers.
Australians are prepared to work hard. They deserve fair pay and conditions.
The Morrison Government wants us to forget that they had doubled the debt to historic highs BEFORE #COVID19
End Sept 2013 gross debt - $280.3b (Change of govt)
End Jan 2020 gross debt - $568b (Pre COVID-19)
26 February 2021 gross debt - $813 billion

Older Australians built this country.
They – and the families who love them – deserve a government that will make this right.
And I genuinely believe only a Labor Government can get it done.
The aged care royal commission's final report was handed to the Morrison Government on Friday.
Two years have been spent looking into the problems. The Government knows what the issues are.
Not enough staff. Not enough training. Not enough PPE.
Not enough infection control.
And above all, shocking neglect of older Australians.
There's one thing the Morrison Government could do today to make a difference.
They could finally take responsibility for aged care.
I am running for Lord Mayor of @cityofsydney because we need leadership that represents our community, not a party. We need genuine independents who can think through issues on their merits.
And after 17 years of the same leadership, we need fresh vision

My observations of the PM’s Canberra bubble: a toxic culture of power and entitlement with so many there coming up through ‘the Firm’, vetted by the Star chamber and then promoted from staffer/advisor to MP & Minister. Speak up or complain and they are removed. #auspol
This is why people don’t come forward.
The politicking, the blame shifting - none of which address the fundamental problems evident in the culture at Parliament House.
I’m not surprised, just disappointed.
What’s complicated about paying workers the minimum wage?
Labor will extend the powers of the Fair Work Commission to create minimum standards for gig workers, such as super, bargaining and unfair dismissal protections.
These workers deserve a government that's on their side.
James was a delivery rider with Hungry Panda. He worked 12-hour days, making as little as $12.50 an hour – well below the minimum wage. He was sacked by Hungry Panda after he spoke out.
When we raised his case in Parliament, Christian Porter’s response was: ‘It’s complicated.’
In progressive politics, we must lay bare the Liberals deep deception on the economy and security. The Liberals have mastered negative campaigning, supported by Murdoch their coalition partner. Our job is to use the truth to beat them at their own game. #InTheNationalInterest
So long as Scott Morrison treats aged care like a political problem, we'll never be able to fix aged care.
The system is broken. The Government should have one objective: to fix it.
It's time for the PM to be straight with the Australian people and just get it done.
