Love Beyond Dreams :
A Coffee Date
The morning sun was warm, and for once, neither Lenne nor Rann had any plans.
“No mysteries. No time travel. No drama,” Rann declared as she slipped her hand into Lenne’s.
Lenne raised an eyebrow. “That sounds suspiciously boring.”
Rann laughed. “Exactly. Today we’re going on a normal date.”
“A normal date?”
“Yes. We’re taking a walk and getting coffee like normal people.”
Lenne sighed dramatically.
“I survived centuries just to become a coffee date girlfriend.”
“And you’re lucky to have me,” Rann replied.
The streets were peaceful as they wandered through the city.
Rann stopped every few minutes to admire flowers, pet random dogs, and point at things she wanted to buy.
Lenne followed behind, pretending to be annoyed.
“Rann.”
“Hmm?”
“You said this was a walk.”
“It is.”
“We’ve moved ten meters in twenty minutes.”
Rann grinned.
“That’s because everything is interesting.”
“You’re impossible.”
“But you love me.”
Lenne smiled despite herself.
“Unfortunately.”
⸻
Eventually they arrived at their favorite café.
The small coffee shop smelled like fresh pastries and roasted coffee beans.
Rann immediately ordered an iced caramel latte.
Lenne ordered an americano.
The cashier looked at them.
“You two are here again?”
“We have a loyalty card,” Rann proudly announced.
Lenne buried her face in her hands.
⸻
A few minutes later, they found a table beside the window.
Outside, people hurried through their busy day.
Inside, everything felt peaceful.
Rann took a sip of her coffee and sighed happily.
“This is perfect.”
Lenne watched her.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“You’re staring.”
“I know.”
Rann’s cheeks turned pink.
For a moment neither of them spoke.
The silence wasn’t awkward.
It was comfortable.
The kind of silence that only existed between people who knew each other completely.
Finally Rann reached across the table and held Lenne’s hand.
“Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For all the ordinary moments.”
Lenne looked confused.
“The coffee?”
“The walks.”
“The lazy mornings.”
“The random conversations.”
Rann smiled softly.
“People always talk about grand love stories.”
Lenne squeezed her hand.
“But?”
“But my favorite part is this.
Lenne looked around the little café.
The half-empty cups.
The sunlight through the window.
The warmth of Rann’s hand in hers.
And suddenly she understood.
Not every beautiful moment needed to be dramatic.
Sometimes happiness looked like a quiet morning.
A simple walk.
A cup of coffee.
And the person you loved sitting across from you.
As they left the café, Rann linked their arms together.
“Where to next?”
Lenne smiled.
“Anywhere.”
“As long as we’re together?”
“As long as we’re together.”
And hand in hand, they continued their walk, enjoying another ordinary day that somehow felt extraordinary.
