@ThHappyHawaiian ... Lovely compliment THH... I sit here thinking I covered it pretty well before I got out also. Just profits need to be taken. Alas, people will always see taking profit as a 'loss' if not taken at the top. I see it as a brick in the build.

A day at the Stratospheric Baths Bringing classic Alma-Tadema vibes to the Orbital Era 🧡

The Orbital Era: Inhabiting the space between sky and Earth. An artistic study of possibilities and new worlds. Every now and then, I get the urge to dive deep into a single concept. An open invitation to explore a specific world together, without any rush. But this time, we aren't traveling to a pure fantasy universe. We are stepping into a future that is just around the corner. Just as we had the Industrial and Information ages, we are now entering the Orbital Era. It’s that imminent time when humanity expands its daily life just beyond the atmosphere. We are talking about the low Earth orbit becoming an extension of our world: zero-gravity factories, orbital hotels, AI data centers floating in the void, and frequent space commutes. I want to explore the emotions and sensations of this new reality. Almost like a memory of a very near future. How will we live the orbit, the Earth below, and the space in between? ➡️ This is an invitation to imagine this world with me for the next 7 days. This thread is not a showcase for polished, perfect masterpieces. It’s an exploration. An open studio. 🎨All media are welcome: AI, traditional art, video, audio, comics, photography... No limits: Participate as many times as you want. Drop a single concept or share twenty variations of the same idea. Throughout the week, I won't be posting curated selections. Instead, I’ll be collaborating by dropping raw studies, simple images, prompts, and --sref codes as I experiment just for fun. Let’s build this near-future together. Show me what you see up there! 👇

I moved 40% into cash today. Given the current macro environment, I think the probability of Gold and Silver miners declining in the short term is higher than the probability of them moving higher. I still believe we will continue to go up over the mid term, but what happens in the near term is much more uncertain. I’m getting a strong pre-COVID feeling - similar to when COVID first appeared and markets still believed it wouldn’t turn into something that serious. When the market finally crashed, metals and miners fell with everything else, but afterwards they went absolutely berserk. I want to have cash available if something like that happens again. If it doesn’t happen, that’s also fine since I’m still 60% invested. But if it does, the 40% cash will likely be able to generate a X4 return.

@libsoftiktok @SecWar It’s called a joke. Military is one of the paths that allows for upwards mobility in society. Joining for benefits is better than not joining at all.

The US Navy officials who transferred the Brooklyn Navy Yard to city management never imagined in their wildest dreams that local politicians would force out tenants for supporting the United States Military. After building the ships that won the Civil War, WWI, and WWII, daring to continue that tradition leads to city council members berating you, local colleges protesting you, and lease cancellations by your new landlord. The $29M in Federal aid the yard received last year should be the last dollar they ever receive from taxpaying citizens, absent a forceful course correction from Lindsay Greene, current President & CEO of the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Future military facility transfers must be subject to terms that prohibit discrimination against businesses that support our troops. @SecWar

Easy Aerial is leaving the Brooklyn Navy Yard. @BklynNavyYard leadership made the right decision last month to not renew their lease. This public asset should not be leasing space to companies producing drones that are being transformed into weapons of war.

@ThHappyHawaiian The Grok 4.2 beta has been significantly better with getting current/historical market prices. I’d gotten to where I couldn’t trust anything it came up with relating to markets because its prices were wrong, but cautiously optimistic it can be useful in the new version

I’ve 100% noticed this Basically any question you ask AI it gives back some lazy BS it makes up and sees if that satisfies you, Then you have to explicitly tell it you want it to actually think about it and give you the correct answer and it’ll maybe probably do it then
BURKOV@burkov

LLMs process text from left to right — each token can only look back at what came before it, never forward. This means that when you write a long prompt with context at the beginning and a question at the end, the model answers the question having "seen" the context, but the context tokens were generated without any awareness of what question was coming. This asymmetry is a basic structural property of how these models work. The paper asks what happens if you just send the prompt twice in a row, so that every part of the input gets a second pass where it can attend to every other part. The answer is that accuracy goes up across seven different benchmarks and seven different models (from the Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude, and DeepSeek series of LLMs), with no increase in the length of the model's output and no meaningful increase in response time — because processing the input is done in parallel by the hardware anyway. There are no new losses to compute, no finetuning, no clever prompt engineering beyond the repetition itself. The gap between this technique and doing nothing is sometimes small, sometimes large (one model went from 21% to 97% on a task involving finding a name in a list). If you are thinking about how to get better results from these models without paying for longer outputs or slower responses, that's a fairly concrete and low-effort finding. If you believe that this is just a rush of hedge funds and managed money dumping longs, I'll remind you of last week's CoT report. What? Did Managed Money simply decide to dump their puny little 13,189 longs all at once? This is not just Speculator selling. It is *something* else.
