The rapidly deteriorating situation in the Middle East due to the escalating conflict involving Israel, the United States, and Iran is extremely alarming and poses a serious threat to global peace and stability. Innocent civilians are once again becoming victims of geopolitical confrontations, which is deeply unfortunate and unacceptable. We pray to the Almighty that sanity prevails and that world leaders choose dialogue over destruction so that peace may be restored without further loss of innocent lives. A large number of people from our region are working in Middle Eastern countries, along with many students pursuing their education there. Their safety cannot be left to uncertainty. I strongly urge the Government of India to act with urgency and responsibility by initiating immediate measures to safeguard and, if necessary, evacuate all Indian nationals from vulnerable areas. The protection of our citizens must remain the highest priority, and timely action will prevent anxiety and hardship for thousands of families waiting back home. At this critical hour, decisive leadership and swift humanitarian action are the need of the moment.

The three-tier Panchayati Raj system completes its term today, on 24th February. This marked the first such democratic experience in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, where the people elected their representatives with great hope and expectations. It is now time for the people to assess and judge their performance — whether those expectations were fulfilled or not. History will ultimately be the true judge. In certain areas, the performance remained dismal, and the confidence of the people was shaken due to unfulfilled promises. However, several DDC members demonstrated sincere commitment towards public welfare. In particular, District Development Council Chairman Rajouri, Naseem Liaqat, deserves appreciation for his commendable work during his five-year tenure. I extend my best wishes to all outgoing DDC members of Jammu & Kashmir and hope they will continue serving the public with dedication, striving to address the grievances and challenges faced by the people. I also urge the government to ensure early elections to the DDC so that this democratic system remains vibrant and responsive to the aspirations of the people.

Reportedly 8 labourers from Rajouri #JAK have been detained by @Uppolice Meerut Ansari Gate Police station since friday withoutany reason or justification .There family is worried about there well being, I urged upon @dgpup @myogiadityanath @OfficeOfLGJandK @HMOIndia to kindly get them released to ensure the freedom of movement of all the Citizens as enshrined in the COI. With the holy month of Ramadan set to begin in a day or two, it is deeply unfortunate and disappointing that the Power Development Department of Rajouri district, particularly Jammu and Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (JKPDCL) Rajouri, has disconnected electricity to several villages for revenue recovery. At a time when people are preparing for this sacred month, such collective action is causing immense hardship to innocent residents. I strongly urge the district administration, especially the concerned department, to immediately restore power supply to the affected villages. If any individual is a defaulter, legal action must be initiated strictly against that person under the law. However, there should be no collective punishment imposed on entire villages for the fault of a few. Such actions are unjust and unacceptable. If the department fails to rectify the situation promptly, I will be constrained to approach the Hon’ble High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh for appropriate and stringent action against the officers and officials responsible.
