#Hypertips 1225: Make sure you have your studio monitors off your desk. This avoids creating extra vibrations in your room (which turns into extra sound). Using monitor stands or foam is ideal, or in a pinch, a stack of a few books works too.

#Hypertips 1224: Use tonal atmospheres in your track. Take the root note of the key of your track and find a cool pad or atmosphere preset. Then, just play the note continuously in the background. Keep it quiet, subtlety is key!

#Hypertips 1223: Take the time to learn about dynamic EQ. It's an incredible tool for cleaning up resonances in vocals and hi-hats. My personal favorite plugin for this is Soothe2 from oeksound.

#Hypertips 1220: If you recorded vocals and are stacking layers of them, make sure that you align them. Nothing sounds worse that four layers of S's and T's being slightly off-time in a vocal stack.

#Hypertips 1221: Back up your files to the cloud! External HDs are useful for storing samples, but cloud storage is the best and most reliable way to keep your project files safe.

#Hypertips 1219: Never stop learning. I recommend budgeting at least 5% of your time you spend on music to learning. Read plugin manuals, take an online course, or watch tutorials to continue developing your skills.

#Hypertips 1218: Try starting a track differently this week. If you always start with a melody, start with the drums (or vice versa). Or, find an awesome sample and use that as a starting point. This is a great way to spark creativity.

#Hypertips 1217: Sample as many sounds as you can from songs you like. Kicks, other drums, FX, whole synth shots. Build out a personal sample pack of your favorite samples from other tracks.

#Hypertips 1216: Don't underestimate the power of email in getting your music heard. Sending direct emails to DJs with promos of your music is an effective way to gain DJ support. From my experience, this is more effective than IG DMs.

#Hypertips 1215: Many times, a muddy mix actually has nothing to do with your mix, it has to do with your arrangement. If your track is too busy in the mids, your mix will sound muddy, no matter what you do.

@CodyMoty It's acting more like a saturator/exciter than a compressor. I've seen some YouTube vids going under the hood on it and apparently it's just running a static sine wave form...the shape changes depending on what curve you select. Regardless, the result does sound pretty great!

@Hyperbits I've seen quite a bit of producers that I enjoy listening to use this plugin. Is it just an exciter? Can one achieve similar processing through stereo imaging and adding slight compression for harmonic richness?

#Hypertips 1214: I don't believe in magic plugins, but if I did, I'd say the Sonnox Inflator is one. I love using it on my master to gain some extra loudness without sacrificing my dynamic range.
