Only peace, a gift of God, can heal the wounds between peoples.

We pray for all who are suffering or in danger. We pray for restraint. We pray for leaders who choose wisdom over escalation. We pray for peace.

As violence escalates following the U.S. attack on Iran, we hold fast to the Church’s call to peace.

Even now — especially now — we are called to disarm our hearts, to pray, to act, and to hold fast to hope. #Christ’s peace endures. So must we.

Our #Catholic social tradition insists that peace is not passive. It is courageous. It is built through justice, dialogue, and solidarity with those who suffer most.

As violence escalates and lives are lost, many of us feel grief, fear, and helplessness. At such moments, our Catholic faith does not look away from suffering — it invites us to remain rooted in a deeper peace.

It is with deep concern that I am following the developments in Venezuela. The good of the beloved Venezuelan people must prevail over every other consideration. This must lead to the overcoming of violence, and to the pursuit of paths of justice and peace.
