Q. did you know people say your leader is surprisingly funny?
🦁 people who only know me as a leader after debut probably see me as someone dependable. actually, i’m not that serious all the time. when i’m with the members, i joke around a lot too.
Q. you’ve known sangwon for a particularly long time. how do you think he’s changed?
🦁 when i first met sangwon, he was still in middle school. he was so shy that he could barely even greet people, and he was extremely timid around strangers. we only became close after about two years.
as a person, he’s still the same at heart, but when i think back to those days, he’s changed a lot on the outside and has become much more playful. from what i’ve seen, sangwon is someone who loves freedom and gains energy from being out and about.
Q. what kind of leader are you?
🦁 honestly, it’s a question i ask myself every day. “what does it mean to be a leader?” (laughs)
Q. so you’re a leader who thinks a lot about it? (laughs)
🦁 i think i’m becoming more open-minded. i want the members to express themselves freely.
everyone has so many strengths that i’ve come to respect each member individually. rather than controlling them, i think my role is to truly understand and learn about each person, what they like, and who they are.
to be honest, i think even after many years, i’ll continue discovering new sides and new things about them.
Q. among the vice leaders, who gives you the most strength?
🦁 junseo hyung.
he’s the only member older than me, and his style is very different from mine, so i rely on him a lot. he’s the type to take care of things very meticulously. he’s tidy and organized, and i’ve learned a lot from him. watching him motivates me as well. i’m really grateful for him.
Q. how do you show consideration for the other members?
🦁 i give them their own space.
i don’t nag them much, and i only speak up when something really needs to be said. i want to respect each person’s individuality and personality.
every single member has such a beautiful heart, and i’m thankful for that. i think it’s nice that there aren’t any walls between us.
Q. before debut, what was your dream stage?
🦁 vaguely, i think it was mama.
Q. your first stage ended up being at the 2025 mama awards, right? you must have been overwhelmed.
🦁 honestly, i didn’t even have time to process how i felt.
it was my dream stage, but at the same time i was preparing for both the performance and my debut. all i could think was, “let’s show them what we’ve got” and “don’t make any mistakes.”
