Leadership Code Tribunal (LCT)

Day three of the three-day Leadership Code Tribunal Members’ Induction started in high gear with a very informative and interactive session with Mr. Obed Katureebe, Acting Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre, on media engagement and public communication.

Day two was crowned with insightful conversations and reflections on Judicial practice and the role of the Tribunal therein, facilitated by His Worship Joel Wegoye and Hon. Justice Dr. Asa Mugenyi.

Day Two of the Leadership Code Tribunal Members’ Induction. Today’s key focus is on case handling, decision-making, and institutional governance. "If corruption is a disease, transparency is an essential part of the treatment." - Koffi Annan.

The afternoon sessions focused on three topics; - The Legal framework of the Tribunal - Public Service Values and Ethics and - Conflict of Interest Management.

The second speaker, Hon. Justice Dr. Douglas Karekona Singiza, the Chairperson Judicial Service Commission, on the topic Judicial Code of Conduct, emphasized the need for respect of authority right from the appointing authority, noting the critical role of the LCT in governance.

Day One started with a keynote address from Hon. Justice David S.L. Makumbi, on the topic, the Importance of the Tribunal in Governance. “This Tribunal is not an ordinary Tribunal, it is established by the Constitution,” he stated.

We closed the day on a high note, with renewed dedication to service, strengthened bonds, built trust, and a recharged commitment to collective responsibility and institutional excellence as the Leadership Code Tribunal.

The facilitator of the day: Rev. Dr. Jasper Tumuhimbise, leading sessions on three major topics: Team Building and Role Clarification; Teamwork, Communication and Trust Building; and Collective Responsibility and Institutional Culture.

A fun-filled day, learning, relearning, and unlearning at the Leadership Code Tribunal team building, happening at Hotel Africana.

The @LeadershipCodeT paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Attorney General of the Republic of Uganda Kiryowa Kiwanuka @KiryowaKk.We gave him an appreciation award for his support to the Leadership Code Tribunal which is a young but key institution in the Anti-Corruption fight.

The engagement also reaffirmed the Tribunal’s commitment to working closely with Government institutions in the execution of its mandate and to serving the people of Uganda with integrity and dedication. linkedin.com/posts/the-lead…

During the visit, the Tribunal presented an award to the Attorney General in appreciation of his continued support to the Leadership Code Tribunal.
