In case you aren’t paying attention- recent AB legislation criminalizes doctors who provide evidence based care. As did the opiate prescription changes. This is deeply worrisome. So far targets people with opiate use disorder, kids with gender dysphoria. Who’s next?

I'm not a prolific academic but my name/email is on a few papers. Every day #predatoryjourals & fake conferences (Global Geology?) invite me If ever there was a best use for #AI surely it would be a filter that makes these stupid emails GO AWAY! #medtwitter #AcademicTwitter HALP

@PrTwain I started blocking the email address and making filters based on words like “esteemed” and “cordially” to put them into a “look later” folder. That was marginally successful so now I’m Blocking the domain. I think that is more effective

@LessIsMoreMed I am an academic who is widely published and I get dozens of these a day. I don't think there is any way to make these go away.

I did look for a solution. Of course I started on PubMed! I found one interesting study: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC88… For now I use my email client (Spark) to block domains. Who is writing the #AI script to reject/obliterate these predatory 'academic' scammers?
