For those who have been following Anastasia's case and praying for her throughout this journey: the jury is now deliberating. Please continue to pray for Anastasia and her legal team as they await a verdict. Pray that the jurors will be granted wisdom, clarity, and discernment as they consider the evidence before them. And pray that the hearts of those who testified against Anastasia would be open to the Gospel of Life. Through it all, Anastasia has remained steadfast in her faith and trust in God. "The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?" — Psalm 27:1

Memorial Day is often seen as a long weekend, a day off work, or the unofficial start of summer. But beneath the gatherings and celebrations is something much more solemn. Today is a day to remember the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. It is also a day to think of the families they left behind—the parents, spouses, children, siblings, and friends who continue to carry that loss every day. Every human life is valuable and should never be taken for granted. That is why the sacrifice made by so many service members is so profound. To willingly lay down one’s life for another is one of the greatest acts of love a person can make. It stands in direct contrast to a culture that too often treats human life as disposable. Many gave their very lives, and countless others willingly faced the possibility of losing theirs in order to protect others and defend our nation. Their courage reminds us that true love is sacrificial. As Christians, we recognize that this kind of selflessness reflects the sacrifice Christ made for all of us. “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13 Today, let us also pray especially for the families of the fallen. May they never want for food, shelter, or support. May they find comfort in the truth that this world is not our forever home and that Heaven is the goal. This Memorial Day, may we remember with gratitude, pray with sincerity, and honor those who gave everything. Wishing you and your loved ones a meaningful and peaceful Memorial Day. #memorialday #RememberingTheFallen

BREAKING! After working behind the scenes and within the courts for over a year, Operation Rescue and Life Legal Defense Foundation won a huge victory in one of the most pro-abortion states in America, finally obtaining the unredacted copy of Lexi Arguello’s autopsy. Colorado tried to cover it up, but the truth about Lexi Arguello’s death is finally public. After months of legal work and investigation, Life Legal and Operation Rescue have secured a major victory in one of the nation’s most aggressively pro-abortion states: the release of Lexi Arguello’s unredacted autopsy. Lexi was only 18 when she died just hours after a second-trimester abortion at Planned Parenthood in Fort Collins, Colorado. The newly released autopsy concluded that she developed disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), a catastrophic clotting disorder, following the procedure. The forensic pathologist also identified probable amniotic fluid embolism (AFE), a rare but often fatal medical emergency associated with invasive pregnancy procedures, as a significant contributing condition. In testimony supporting a bill that would have required Colorado to license and inspect second-trimester abortion clinics, Dr. Keri Kasun stated that Lexi’s grandfather was told she had been “transferred too late” to the hospital and did not receive the urgency of care she needed. Dr. Kasun further testified that Planned Parenthood staff requested the “silent siren treatment” — meaning no lights or sirens during emergency transport — despite the catastrophic nature of Lexi’s medical condition. Those allegations raised serious questions about what transpired inside the abortion facility — questions Colorado officials attempted to conceal from the public. Instead of allowing the public to learn the truth about what happened to Lexi, Larimer County Coroner Stephen Hanks heavily redacted the autopsy report, blacking out references to the abortion, the complications, and even Lexi’s official cause of death. This was nothing less than an effort to shield a politically protected industry from scrutiny. After the coroner refused to release critical information about the cause of death, Operation Rescue partnered with Life Legal to pursue legal action. Working with Life Legal affiliate attorney Tim Goddard, the legal team — including Life Legal attorney Sheila Green — filed a lawsuit challenging the sweeping redactions and the misuse of public records laws to conceal key medical findings. During a January court hearing, the coroner openly argued that releasing the unredacted autopsy showing how Lexi died would discourage other women from seeking abortions. “This autopsy is one of the few public documents that can expose Planned Parenthood for wrongdoing in the tragic death of Lexi Arguello,” said Troy Newman, President of Operation Rescue. “It’s also a document that can prove just how dangerous unregulated and unlicensed Colorado abortion clinics have become. Women are dying and state officials are looking the other way.” The judge rejected the coroner’s argument and ordered the release of the full autopsy. This case demonstrates why independent legal advocacy matters so deeply. Without sustained legal action, the public would never have learned the facts surrounding Lexi’s death. Across the country, Life Legal is fighting abortionists and their allies determined to avoid scrutiny and accountability. That work requires months of investigation, research, litigation, and advocacy — often in hostile jurisdictions. #JusticeForLexi #LexiArguello #OperationRescue #LifeLegal

The Supreme Court heard First Choice Women’s Resource Centers v. Platkin Tuesday — a case that could expose pro-life donors to government scrutiny. Life Legal filed an amicus brief supporting six pregnancy centers, including some targeted by invasive subpoenas. We urged the Court to reject the idea that nonprofits must endure harm before seeking protection. Meanwhile, a major win in NIFLA v. James: the Second Circuit confirmed that abortion pill reversal (APR) information is protected speech. New York can no longer treat life-saving information as a crime. We’ll keep fighting for donor privacy, free speech, and the sanctity of human life. #SCOTUS #DonorPrivacy #FirstAmendment #ProLife #PregnancyCenters #APR #LegalUpdate

Tuesday morning, the U.S. Supreme Court heard First Choice Women’s Resource Centers v. Platkin — a case that could change the landscape of pro-life ministry in America. New Jersey is demanding that pregnancy centers hand over confidential donor information. If the state gets its way, pro-life donors could have their name, address, and personal details exposed to hostile government officials. Life Legal filed an amicus brief on behalf of six pregnancy centers, some of which were subject to invasive subpoenas by California Attorney General Rob Bonta. We warned the court that under the current court ruling, pregnancy centers must go through a long and invasive state investigation before they are allowed to ask a federal court to protect their rights. In other words, they and their supporters have to be harmed first — and only then can they seek help. The justices pushed back on the idea that nonprofits should be forced to open their files to the government just to defend their freedoms. Chief Justice Roberts asked: “You don’t think it might have an effect on future potential donors to the organization to know that their name, phone number, address, etcetera could be disclosed as a result of the subpoena?” Exactly. This is nothing less than an unvarnished attempt by pro-abortion states to frighten pro-life supporters into silence. Life Legal is fighting so that never happens. No one should have to risk being exposed or harassed for upholding the sanctity of human life. On another note — victory! The Second Circuit Court of Appeals on Monday delivered a significant win for pregnancy centers in NIFLA v. James. The court echoed Life Legal’s arguments that statements about abortion pill reversal (APR) are protected speech, not commercial advertising — meaning the government can’t censor them unless it meets the highest constitutional standard. New York Attorney General Letitia James tried to silence centers by claiming APR statements were “false and misleading” and subject to government control. The court rejected that argument. As the case moves forward, James will have to prove that New York has a compelling reason to stop pregnancy centers from sharing information about APR — an extraordinarily difficult burden to meet. In short: New York can no longer treat life-saving information about APR as a crime. #SCOTUS #FirstAmendment #DonorPrivacy #FreeSpeech #ProLifeNews #ProLifeMovement #PregnancyCenters #APR #ReligiousFreedom #ProtectLife #SCOTUSWatch #ConstitutionalLaw #FreeSpeech #CivilLiberties #LegalUpdate

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, we want to share this victory with everyone: All felony charges against AJ Hurley in People v. Hurley have been dismissed. After three years, this ruling confirms what we’ve said from the start: the charges were inflated to intimidate peaceful pro-life advocates. You may have noticed our silence throughout the case—this was intentional. We didn’t want to risk prejudicing the judge or jeopardizing AJ’s rights while the case was pending. At the recent hearing, the prosecutor even tried to limit AJ’s supporters in the courtroom, calling them “intimidating.” The judge immediately rejected the request, reminding the court that it is open to the public. Thanks to your support, Life Legal was able to protect AJ’s constitutional rights and ensure the truth was heard. AJ—who faced up to ten years in prison—told the court he never intended to intimidate anyone, only to shed light on the humanity of the unborn. The prosecutor asked the judge to silence him mid-sentence, and the judge complied. Your support made this outcome possible. Thank you for standing with those who defend life. Full update: lifelegal.org/important-upda… Press release: standardnewswire.com/felony-charges… Video of AJ’s thoughts and Attorney Allison Aranda after the hearing below.

Her name was Lexi Arguello. She was just 18 years old and reported to be about 22 weeks pregnant when tragedy struck. On February 6, 2025, Lexi underwent a second-trimester abortion at the Planned Parenthood facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. According to the autopsy, she died from disseminated intravascular coagulation, a condition characterized by widespread clotting in small blood vessels which causes organ damage and death. This condition can result from a severe pregnancy complication known as an amniotic fluid embolism — a life-threatening event that can occur during late-term abortion or childbirth. Unless a woman with this condition receives immediate medical intervention, she can die in a very short space of time. With proper timely intervention, she has a good chance of survival. Both Lexi and her unborn child lost their lives that day. At Life Legal, we believe their deaths demand truth, transparency, and accountability. We are working with Operation Rescue to obtain records related to Lexi’s death, the abortion facility’s response to her complications, and the role of the abortionist and surgical team. Because local agencies have withheld all relevant information regarding the cause of Lexi’s death, we are preparing to pursue legal action to compel disclosure. Tragically, Colorado currently treats abortion clinics differently from other ambulatory surgical centers — there’s no comprehensive licensing or inspection regime in place for many facilities. This gap in oversight means when a young woman like Lexi is harmed, her family and the public may be left in the dark. Your support enables us to fight for justice in her case. It enables us to pressure for full investigation, to challenge regulatory loopholes that put women at risk, and to help ensure an abortion-industry provider cannot hide behind silence when a life is lost. #JusticeForLexi #WomensHealthMatters #AccountabilityNow #ProLife #TransparencyMatters
