UAE BUILDS REAL-TIME AED-USD STABLECOIN RAIL AE Coin (@AECoin_UAE) and Universal (@Universal_USDU) announced Thursday a regulated conversion rail allowing near-instant exchange between the UAE dirham-pegged AE Coin and the dollar-backed USDU stablecoin, targeting institutional payments and treasury management. Al Maryah Community Bank (@almaryahbank) provides the underlying infrastructure. Initial access runs through two licensed digital asset service providers, Aquanow and Changer(.)ae. The system is intended for liquidity management, cross-border settlements, and trade finance. Both stablecoins are fully licensed under the UAE's Payment Token Services Regulation. AE Coin is the first AED-pegged stablecoin licensed by the Central Bank. USDU launched in January as the first foreign payment token registered by the CBUAE, with reserves held 1:1 at Emirates NBD and Mashreq.
