The Fed says this change could support private sector cross border payment flows by allowing the U.S. leg to settle through FedNow while another intermediary handles the international side. That does not mean Ripple has been approved as a FedNow intermediary. But it does mean the market structure is shifting in a direction Ripple has been building around for years.
