Mission Accomplished!!! Took my 9yr old on the John Muir Trail (JMT) for a 3 day-2 night backpacking trip. We did 34 miles in the 3 days and went over a 10,898ft pass! I'm so proud of him! He crushed it, and we had a great time with awesome memories!

@MethodsNFT Very similar, but in different plant families. Wapato leaves are not considered edible. Kalo leaf is delicious after cooking. Amazing to see similar life evolve

#Kalo (#taro) is a cornerstone of a sustainable tropical diet. Often grown in shallow ponds, its leaves are cooked like spinach while the starchy corm is eaten like a potato or made into poi. Fast-growing, delicious, and easy to propagate 🌱
