Confesso que não consigo aceitar a tese, que me foi dita há alguns dias atrás, que o patrimonalismo poderia ser algo benéfico ao país se fosse estruturado em melhores incentivos. Estive em Belém/PA essa semana, e uma pessoa próxima a mim, que é de lá e tem trânsito na burocracia até em Brasília, me falou que o Tribunal de Contas dos Municípios do Estado do Pará é utilizado pelas forças políticas do Estado do Pará como cabide de empregos para as esposas dos políticos. Mencionou uma que, antes de virar administadora das contas públicas do Estado, era manicure - além de, claro, eposa de um político. Acredito que os escândalos de Moraes e dos demais ministros do STF vão funcionar como os seus salários para o resto da administração pública: vão se tornar o padrão das “boas práticas”. Se Moraes e os demais ministros podem se blindar, usar sua influência em outros órgãos, como o Banco Central, e reinterpretar o arcabouço legal em benefício próprio, então o resto da administração pública fará o mesmo. O neopatrimonialismo - filho do neoconstitucionalismo - chegou, e ele surge para... salvar a democracia!

@JamesOKeefeIII and @Project_Veritas uncovered Minnesota voter fraud among the Somali community in September 2020, two months before the election. And when I wrote about it, the backlash was ferocious. The story was "widely fact-checked" aka discredited by the "prestige" media outlets who offered no evidence of error but insinuated it was racist. They took Minnesota election officials at their word that no such fraud existed, and local police said they had seen no evidence -- because they never looked. Nobody followed up my column because the story was kryptonite to anyone who touched it, and the fraud continued. The exact same MO as Laptop from Hell three weeks later, only without the Dirty51.
