He’ll most likely switch to a more battle-ready version of the suit later on, once his original plan is exposed.

Notice that both in Fantastic Four and in my artwork, the mask is completely smooth. But in the movie, Doom will wear a suit with metal bracers, and his mask will have visible rivets.

Now I’m not even sure about Doom and his assistants myself. In the comics, Doom often fooled everyone using his Doombots near-perfect replicas that always claimed to be Doctor Doom. And honestly, he’s not stupid enough to show up everywhere in person.
