These students wrote 17Strong grants last year in 5th grade to be able to make blankets for the homeless. The 17Strong Student Squad helped create blankets during their recess time over the course of last 2 months. The blankets were donated to New Life Missions here in Hamilton.

Ridgeway 5th graders created yarn dolls as a culminating project after reading “Esperanza Rising”. They reflected on the significance of the yarn doll throughout the story and on how Esperanza’s perspective of yarn dolls changed from the beginning of the novel to the end.
