Living a life of recovery one today at a time I went from active addiction to a life that actually feels worth living. It all started with one Man reaching out. A Man that saved my life. He showed me how to work the 12 Steps instead of just reading about them. Step by step and Day by day The work continues still. Admitting I am powerless. Taking that fearless moral inventory. Making amends where I could and should. Learning to pray and meditate. Turning my will over. Carrying the message forward. Here is the beautiful part. The 12 Steps do not just keep you sober. They build a whole new foundation. They change hearts. Your heart gets lighter as the shame lifts. Your thinking clears. You start showing up differently for the people who love you. About those loved ones? They heal too. Trust slowly comes back. Families stop walking on eggshells. Kids see a parent who is present. Spouses remember what hope feels like. The ripple effect is real.
