@NiallMcConnell5 You don’t need more than two brain cells to know that the video is edited and the man was baited. But then again, bots don’t have brain cells.

@1stKolapo @RapidResponse47 No, President Trump did not make this statement. Key phrases from the screenshot ("NATO IS A PAPER TIGER," "Strait of Hormuz," "Nuclear Powered Iran") do not appear in any posts from his realDonaldTrump account. It appears to be a fabricated image mimicking his style.

The viral "ball POV" sequence in Challengers (2024) was actually 23 individual shots stitched together. Director Luca Guadagnino told the VFX team the audience needed to "BE THE BALL" to feel the kinetic energy.

That is not orisa Olokun, that is “Oba Ohen”, the father of Oba Ewuare. His legs were carved like that because he got paralyzed by stepping on a charm, he tried to hid his leg paralysis, but was exposed by his chiefs, he was later tricked into a hole, he couldn’t jump out and so he was stoned to death by his own chief. This excerpt can be found in page 13 of Jacob Egharevba’s book published in 1968, and the book was endorsed by the Benin Palace.

June 3rd marks the Yoruba New Year, according to the traditional Yoruba calendar known as Kọ́jọ́dá. We're currently in year 10,067 and this coming June ushers in the year 10,068. The Yorùbá calendar consists of 364 days and 13 months, which shows a long-standing and sophisticated indigenous system of timekeeping. This is a powerful reminder of the depth and intellectual richness of our indigenous cultures. Yoruba civilisation is ancient, spanning thousands of years, yet today we primarily follow a calendar system tied to the birth of a foreign religious figure. It raises an important question about the value we place on our own traditional knowledge systems.
Ayankola Ayanwuyi@kolaayanwuyi

Yoruba Indigenous Calendar The Chinese are currently celebrating Chinese New Year, which in 2026 began in mid-February. It marks the Year of the Horse on their lunar calendar. This period is observed nationwide in China, with public holidays (of about seven days) and near-total shutdowns across many sectors during the Spring Festival. The new year officially began on February 17 but many businesses were already closing for days now. Some would use about 15 days for the holiday. They have managed to sync their civilisation, time, culture, economy, and identity. The Yoruba need to get here, too — soon. A time when we collectively recognise and celebrate our own New Year, from our Indigenous calendar which usually starts early June. We have to stop living perpetually by borrowed clocks. And beyond the celebration, we must also embrace the message of Ifa revealed for each year as a moral, spiritual, and philosophical guide for our collective journey. It is important for our survival. For example, this year Odu Ifa is Oturupon Meji (also Ologbon Meji). We do not have any future outside our cultural identity. Any progress detached from our cosmology, values, and ancestral knowledge is imitation. Following our calendar is how we realign with ourselves and chart a future that is truly ours. — Ayankola Ayanwuyi

“There are only 2 instances where sudden and massive immigration flows can occur. One is War. The other is Famine. No one would queue/wait for a visa in Africa if either were to occur. The idea of “visas” in Africa is colonial and serves only one purpose, to divide” Sule, Danfo. 2021

Dear Wode, I am a sincere admirer of your work and of the diplomatic role you have taken on. As Spider-Man famously said, with great power comes great responsibility. It is always popular to say “open the borders, no barriers.” From an ideological standpoint, many of us instinctively agree. Open dialogue among brilliant minds like yours can only enrich the global debate. That said, developing countries whose economies are finely balanced on their demographic structures would not withstand sudden, massive immigration flows. Rather than benefiting, they risk destabilization and becoming easy prey for stronger Western economies. The real challenge, in my view, is not to open borders indiscriminately, but to open minds. We should work toward a gradual, structured integration that strengthens ideas, institutions, and local economies, instead of turning societies into early victims of well intentioned but poorly sequenced ideals. I truly admire your vision and your commitment.
Wode Maya ®@wode_maya

A borderless Africa doesn’t mean our borders should be scrapped; it means they should not restrict movement within Africa through visa requirements.

You can’t police how fans react to movies. My job is to put my best into every role I get, how the fans react to it is totally up to them. I have acted more roles this year which has nothing to do with the Igbo character but not all of these movies are out yet.

I’ve seen 14 of these movies mentioned here. Would be seeing Colors of Fire by tomorrow cos I enjoy every of Niyi’s body of work. The real question should be IN THESE 20, MOVIES, HOW MANY HAVE GIVEN YOU THE BUZZ THE ONES YOU ACTED THE IGBO BILLIONAIRE GAVE? Think about it nna.
