Jim Robson is THE Voice of Vancouver. He was the first voice I remember as a young kid listening to games on the radio. I never had the pleasure to meet Mr. Robson. I always had hoped one day our paths would cross. A true gentleman and the best there was! Rest easy, Mr. Robson.🎙️

Feel so lucky that my career covering the Canucks overlapped with Jim Robson’s. Remember as a kid being tucked into bed listening to Jim and Tom Larscheid call the Canucks. The familiarity and trust was comforting. If only the team in those years were as good as they were.

Growing up, we rarely saw Canucks’ games on television. It was radio for us. No pictures, just a voice. But I never felt I was missing out on anything because that voice belonged to Jim Robson. No one painted a hockey picture like Jim.He was better than anything on tv. God Bless

Jim Robson was as important to Canucks fans as the players on the ice. Jim would never want to hear that but it was true. It certainly was for me growing up in BC. One of the all-time greats. A pro on the mic. Humble and kind in person. A major inspiration to me. RIP Jim.

I cant stop thinking about Jim Robson, my childhood voice. I can still hear a Gary Lupul or Darcy Rota goal in my head. The Pavel Bure double overtime goal in Calgary sticks out for me. Such of huge piece of Vancouver sports and history.

Jim Robson is a true legend and arguably the biggest fan the franchise ever had. You hear a lot of those 94 calls and they never get old, he had an incredible way of painting a picture for people listening on radio. Condolences to the Robson family.

One of the iconic voices of Canadian Broadcasting and in particular hockey from coast to coast. The NHL’s expansion gave the rest of us the great treat of listening to Jim and the Vancouver Canucks. A wonderful gentleman. RIP my friend!!

Growing up in the interior of BC, my earliest hockey memories were narrated by Jim Robson. My transistor radio crackled with Jim’s voice on CKWX and then CKNW, as he told us of the exploits of the Canucks. It was my dream to meet Jim. I did. I was my dream to work with Jim. I did. It was my dream to call Jim a friend. I did. He had a heart of gold. And a passion to be perfect. Jim’s impact on sports broadcasting in Vancouver will never be forgotten. “A Special Hello to all the hospital patients and shut-ins that can’t get out to hockey games…” A Special Thank You to You Jim Robson.

The best! Growing up Jim’s radio descriptions of the game were second to none. As a boy listening to him he brought the game to life. I loved when he was on HNIC, thinking he’s one of us, and now the nation can enjoy. Jim is one of the reasons I fell in love with the game. ❤️

What a sad day, Canucks legend Jim Robson has passed away. We only had a Canucks game of the week on TV in the 80’s, it was Jim and my radio. Nobody described a game better. Simply the best there ever was.
