I need to talk about my neighbors because I have been holding this in for too long. They had a birthday party this weekend. For one of their kids. In their backyard. I counted six children and two adults. There were balloons. There was a cake on a folding table. It lasted maybe two hours in the middle of the afternoon. And I am sorry but who is going to tell people that you cannot just do this. The noise. Six children making the sound that six children make. For two hours. On a Saturday. I had things I wanted to do in my own home and instead I had to listen to a party I was not invited to and would not have attended anyway. The cars. Two extra cars parked on the street near my house. On the public street, yes, but near my house, which means in front of the area I consider to be my general zone. And the balloons. One of them came loose and drifted into my yard and I had to be the one to deal with a stray balloon on my own property because of a party that had nothing to do with me. They did not warn me. No note, no heads up, no hey we are having a small thing on Saturday. They just decided to have a celebration in a yard that shares a fence with mine and let me find out about it by hearing it. If you are going to host an event, even a small one, the neighbors should be consulted. We share an environment. My Saturday is part of that environment and they spent it without asking. I am aware some people will say it was just a kids birthday party. To those people I would say it is never just anything when it affects the people around you.

Bumping reservoir is 99% full. Don’t worry I have two friends who farm in the Yakima Valley. They haven’t had a water shortage yet. I will keep checking

@Rob32cc @LocalClim @The_Weatherman2 @CliffMass only someone who has made drought into something its not or someone with an ulterior motive would look at near or record level low snowpack for most locations (75% of our water supply) , resultant low stream flow into the regions #1 growing area and then say there is no drought

@Rob32cc @LocalClim @The_Weatherman2 @CliffMass There isnt 50% of the snow in the Yakima Basin, just for starters, most places are melted out, and stream and river flows in early summer are well below normal. This is why there is a drought declaration and nobody is saying we wont get through this summer, hope this helps.

@SeattleWXGuy @LocalClim @The_Weatherman2 @CliffMass You misunderstood what I meant when I said the rivers are spring fed ,what I meant is once the snow melt melts out the rivers keep flowing because there’s springs that flow into them too. That accounts for the other 30% of the water.

But even though we only had 50% of our normal snow pack that is still enough to keep our reservoirs full. Our mountains get an abundant amount of snow each winter so even if they’re only 50% it’s enough to carry us through the summer.

But I think you are over exaggerating the effect that it will have on our water districts this summer. Even though we had such a low snow pack the rivers never dry up. They are naturally spring fed.

If more than 10 at some point throughout the summer require water rationing. I will admit you were right about the drought. If it’s less you admit I was right.

Most places are completely melted out right now, have no snow and somehow he has convinced you that there is no shortage. Youve been duped...

I know our snow pack was less than 50% of normal. But our reservoir’s are full and we have had above normal rainfall at most locations in Western Washington.
