@paradox303_ I relate 100%. Obviously I'm not opposed to learning new stuff, but if you have to watch videos and read up a bunch then that's too much for casuals that just wants to hop into a game finally having the free time to do so. + DLC's always OP on launch, extremely cortisol inducing.

Played my first games of AoE2 in almost three weeks last night, so my first games back since the new DLC/water rebalance. My major complaint is the amount of new “stuff” in this latest patch is far too great. It feels like I’m playing a very different game, this imo isn’t good for casual fans/players. There is A LOT to learn from the last patch. I also don’t know if I’m interested in doing so. I feel like I was wasting my time, not knowing how certain units work, also my teammates struggle with other civs, while a few cheese certain strats or use the new units which don’t behave like normal units at all. Then you add the ever existing problems like queue dodging repeatedly in the TG queue, I feel like I was wasting my time. I don’t feel motivated to play more unfortunately. It’s a shame really. I don’t think this last patch is exciting. I also don’t think the devs are necessarily doing a bad job, but I do think this last patch is just way way too much to put on the plate of players. Anyone else feeling the same?

@paradox303_ @XTr14orceX @XTr14orceX Point is it's overwhelming, which it absolutely is. The beauty of AoE2 is that it for the most part made sense with rock-paper-scissor counters. Now it's getting more gimmicky and complex. It says Champis are weak to cav, but the destroy cav. 500 ELO comment.
