Same here. Agree: poverty can’t be the root of this. It speaks to behaviour devoid of dignity - absolute depravity. I’m not sure how something like this is overcome. Yes, not all men are like this, but the very idea of masculinity is challenged by this.

@SimoneGregor1 There’s something very wrong with us as a society in SA. And poverty giving rise to crime can’t be the only answer for all problems. I just don’t understand this kind of behavior against children 💔💔

In 1997, a Child Protection Unit policeman based in Khayelitsha made a life-changing decision. He arrested and then shot dead the man who had raped his six-year-old daughter. He would be sentenced to nine years behind bars for doing so - by then Judge, later CJ Sandile Ngcobo.
