Most Rev. A. Elias Zaidan, Bishop of the Maronite Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles and Chairman of the USCCB's Committee on International Justice and Peace, speaks about the reality facing Catholics in the Middle East and calls for peace in the region.
"It's not their war, but they're the victims often." In a recent statement, Bishop Zaidan welcomed the ceasefire between the United States, Israel, and Iran, but expressed concern that the agreement does not cover Lebanon. He called on the international community to ensure the people of Lebanon receive greater access to humanitarian assistance, noting that more than one million people, including 370,000 children, have been displaced by the fighting.
Please keep the people of Lebanon and all Christians in the Middle East in your prayers.
