Our last mission to the Moon - Apollo 17, December 1972. Jack Schmitt photographs Gene Cernan on the Lunar Rover. Perhaps the photograph I agonised over the most, but ultimately didn't include in the book. The quantity and quality of the imagery from Apollo 17 is incredible.

Love these X-ray images of Apollo gloves and lunar boots! (From an eBay auction) X-rays were used to check if sharp objects were left during the manufacturing process.

Recently I tried to acquire an Apollo star chart and discovered that those charts contain three star names derived from the Apollo 1 astronauts, who tragically died OTD in 1967. Edward White II (Donces), Gus Ivan Grissom (Navi) and Roger Chaffee (Regor). The origin is a practical joke by Grissom.
