@Mallard_Music I found these kits on Amazon a few years ago and got a couple donated and finally applied for a grant for a class set last year. Kids partner up and have to figure out how to out it together. Then, they have to write a song including at least 2 pitches. Lyrics are the next week.
5th grade final projects are underway. Students are using LittleBits Music Inventor Kits to create music and then writing lyrics to share in just a few weeks. #musicclass#orff#springrunfun
1st graders had fun doing improvised movement to music and then freezing in some suggested poses as well as some chosen poses today. #musicclass#orff#springrunfun
1st graders composed rhythms with their bodies today and their classmates performed them. 2 in a chair = 8th notes, 1 in a chair= a quarter note, 0 in a chair = rest.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! If you want to thank a Virginia teacher, send a digital thank you note and they can be entered to win a Virginia vacation! thankateacherva.com/entry_form/def…
First graders are preparing for second grade by learning about half notes! This class did such a great job with them. They arranged these four rhythms into a sequence and read them all by themselves! #musicclass#springrunfun#orff
2nd and 3rd graders have been working on a French Folk dance this week called La Guimbarde. They have been having so much fun! #musicclass#orff#springrunfun
I was lucky enough to win an MCD grant last year that allowed me to buy LittleBits Music Inventor Kits! 5th graders are exploring them this week, and then using them to write their own songs in the coming weeks. #musicclass#springrunfun
