Our 3rd year Practical Cookery pupils have been learning about pastry and seasonality so it had to be strawberry tarts!! We tried the upside down patty cake tin method - perfect tart cases every time without the faff of baking beans. Well done 3rd year! @StMatthewsAc

Our 4th year Hospitality pupils are currently planning their next fundraising event - A Cheesecake Sale. 2nd year pupils were invited to the taste testing and provided some excellent feedback. Now our pupils need to review the result and finalise the menu😋 @StMatthewsAc

Feeling a lot like Christmas in the HE Dept- 3rd yr HFT Christmas Yule Log challenge - appearance, flavour and the all important swirl were judged by Mrs Schlesiger. 1st prize £10 Costa Voucher to Sophie Masson for her Caramel Delight - absolutely delish!! @StMatthewsAc

Our Hospitality Skills for Work pupils served a delicious 3 course Christmas Lunch to friends and family at Ardeer Golf Course on Friday as part of their Nat 5 Assessment. Pupils ran Front of House, Bar and Kitchen - what a success!! Thanks to all involved! @StMatthewsAc

Well done to Payton and Lily (S3) for competing in the local final of @SBFutureChef on Tuesday. Although they did not make it through to the next stage, both girls done exceptional well in their performance and Miss Hendry is so proud of them for all they have achieved. 👩‍🍳⭐️

Our 3rd year Health and Food Technology class have been learning about statutory and voluntary labelling requirements. The end of unit assessment task: to create their own food product which could legally be sold in a UK supermarket and would appeal to consumers. @StMatthewsAc

What a morning for our Hospitality + Caritas Award pupils: providing freshly baked cakes + refreshments after Sunday mass for St Peter's parishioners this morning. A very generous, wonderful community, raising £196 for the Malawi fund + future Hospitality events @StMatthewsAc

S3 practical cookery have started their Fakeaway unit with beef fried rice. All the pupils enjoyed the flavours and some even said it was better than their local takeaway! 🥡

What a fabulous day for our S3 Hospitality Skills for Work class at Trump Turnberry. Pupils loved the opportunity to tour all areas of the hotel - particularly the amazing ballroom. 5* treatment throughout. Thanks v much @TrumpTurnberry @StMatthewsAc

S4 Hospitality Skills for Work lucky enough to experience @MrVoz_HE masterclass on Lobster and Langoustines-fresh from the Isle of Mull (thanks Mrs Dougan). Pupils (and teachers) loved the lobster and the roasted langoustines with herb butter were very popular. @StMatthewsAc
