@dhh I worked so hard to build an x86 hackintosh for fun ~8 years ago and now I'm buying old used Apple hardware to install Omarchy :P what a strange timeline

but I'm making progress seem like OSS is the best model abstraction through extraction crystalize generic patterns and move them to product infra move towards smaller and tighter unique product code patch-in-place infra toss-and-replace product code

not yet wise to actually regen all code from scratch for each build. So we’re in a weird in-between situation where sometimes we need to patch-in-place and other times we need to toss-and-replace. And it’s currently very difficult to know when each option is best

the specific source code artifacts are no longer the most important part. eventually we can and should regularly throw away all code and regenerate it from scratch whenever the requirements and ideal state vision change. But also, as of early 2026, that is still only partly real

the future of task management software is dynamically generated work orders defined by evergreen gaps auto-generated reactively when reality or target state shift you'll open up the app in the morning and get exactly enough work to handle today and no more. when done, go home

announcing tigma, my latest weekend project. It's like figma but for TUIs try it: `bunx tigma` → supports text, lines, rectangles → drag to move around and resize → edit text, change stroke and fill, multiple selection, and more github.com/jlongster/tigma (music by me!)

@kmdrfx Ayo! Wanna collab on a VT-HIG spec? Standards for virtual terminal human interface guidelines for product designers designing for TUI and CLI Akin to Apple HIG or the Facebook HIG. Every design niche has some kind of standardized HIG we can all start with at first

Opencode uses the alternate screen to provide a flicker free experience and we can provide context aware selection and search. However you loose scrollback. We value this special experience a lot. We may explore scrollback mode in the future, but our bar is quite high.
