In 2017, Select Standing Committee on Finance & Government Services gave this recco: “With broad stakeholder input, review the per-pupil funding formula to develop a new needs-based, stable & sustainable model to fund actual costs, resource needs & pro dev of each school dist.”

Where does $$$ come from for learning spaces? School districts are required to contribute to capital projects by the BC government. Since 2017, the Surrey School District has contributed $107 million to capital projects. #notanaprilfoolsjoke #bced #SurreyBC #bcpoli #inclusion

When the BC government talks about the amount of money they spend on Surrey capital projects, it does not include the contributions from Surrey Schools.

The cost of portables (purchase, install and site moves) have been funded by the school district. In the 2023/24 school year, Surrey Schools has spent $5.7 million dollars on moving portables in our district.

Wouldn't it be great if teachers & staff could take sick days & know there will be a sub to cover their class? Each day, about 100 classes have no sub - students can lose learning supports, library access & music classes. #notanaprilfoolsjoke #bced #SurreyBC #bcpoli #inclusion
