Consensus among friends is that @TG4 was the Christmas television star, with the O Riada documentary the highlight.

When I was a boy, my English teacher, Humphrey Twomey, taught us the value of critique. Read something. Don't rush to judgement but consider it from every angle. Each boy in the class was then allowed his own opinion. Whenever I encounter instant outrage here, I miss Mr. Twomey.

Legitimate criticism is due toward the longstanding resistence to antigen testing from public health advisors. Going from snake oil remedy to the official course of action is some u-turn.

@Ogra_SF Of course the Christian West helped lift many millions of Africans out of starvation and provided education and medical healthcare. Sinn Fein painting only a portion of the picture as usual for ideological means

Albert Reynolds was right to have Gerry Adams and John Hume on the steps of Government Buildings in the aftermath of the IRA ceasefire. Reynolds was a practical patriot, despite his social and intellectual detractors.

It can’t be sustainable for public health advice to be “isolate immediately and book a PCR test” if you have symptoms and then to have no PCR tests available to book.

RIP Jim. From the deliveries of cakes and jellies to the office and the social outings there was always a bit of craic and good conversation with Jim. Plenty of advice taken on board since I started out with @Videosonthenet in 2013. Thinking of John and his family.

RIP Jim - The only adult who whenever I met him always called me by my childhood / schoolboy nickname. Even when I too was an adult. I loved that about him.
