While Farsi is still the official language of Iran, Arabic was introduced post 1979 in an attempt to make the country more Muslim. While the overwhelming majority of Muslims remain a peaceful ppl, the same cannot be said for this current regime.

This is what my Iranian friends abroad taught me in the last few days. Regular every day Iranians welcome the regime change as the current one forcibly took power. With this change comes all sorts of freedoms. It's the ppl who got rich from the coup that don't want change.
