All Crew Members of U.S. KC-135 Loss in Iraq Confirmed Deceased TAMPA, Fla. – All six crew members aboard a U.S. KC-135 refueling aircraft that went down in western Iraq are now confirmed deceased. The aircraft was lost while flying over friendly airspace March 12 during Operation Epic Fury. The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. However, the loss of the aircraft was not due to hostile fire or friendly fire. The identities of the service members are being withheld until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.

My UPDATE US-Iran 5/03/2026: After 5 days of intense warfare mainly from the air but also at sea the US is continuing its ever intensifying targeted airstrike campaign against Iranian targets along with the Israelis, they seem to have significantly degraded the Iranian ballistic missile capability and gained relative aerial supremacy over the region, it is now also confirmed the Iranian navy has lost over 20 surface vessels and is in absolute tatters. The Iranian airforce is practically non existent at this point after initial aerial engagements and strategic bombing of the main airfields, what remains of it is certainly grounded and hidden in fortified positions. It seems the focus of initial strikes focused on targeting leadership and immediate nodes of resistance, now a larger targeting of Iranian regime enabling facilities and personnel continues such as the militias responsible and police forces for keeping the public in order, the stage for revolt is being set. There also seems to be a continued concerted effort to attack Iranian ballistic missile launchers once they have fired, as they are easier to detect then one hidden in Bunkers and a continued use of strategic bombers to hit underground weapons manufacturing facilities. The Iranian airspace has practically turned into a shooting theatre and airstrikes will only continue to increase in their intensity as the days go by, I have seen very little counter to this only sporadic videos of Iranian AA teams attempting to engage drones with ground base cannons, the fact drones are fliying low Is telling in itself. From a military perspective it has been so far a resounding success .
