Tonight, we extend sincere gratitude to all Ugandans who despite the heavy jam made way for our Kisubi Hospital ambulance as it rushed a critical cardiac patient to our Heart Centre for an emergency heart procedure in our Cathlab. In moments like these, every second counts - and your quick response, discipline, and humanity on the road became part of the chain that saved a life tonight. We are humbled to report that the heart procedure was successful. The patient is now stable and has been given another chance at life. Thanks to you all.

In his remarks, our Managing Director, Postmaster James Arinaitwe, highlighted the evolution, relevance, and future direction of postal services in Uganda. He began by reflecting on the origins of Uganda's postal service, noting that it was established long before independence with the mandate to serve as the backbone of communication. At the time, communication was entirely physical, relying on letters, parcels, and other forms of mail, with the post office playing a central role in connecting people and institutions. Despite the shift toward digital communication, he emphasized that the importance of postal services has not diminished. Instead, it has expanded. Globally, postal systems continue to exist because communication remains essential, only the form in which it is delivered has changed. Referring to a recent discussion on @ubctvuganda, he addressed questions about the future of postal services, affirming that the post office will remain relevant not only over the next 10 years but also over the next century. But guys, the road is still under construction and many of the of the safety measures are not yet installed. If you look carefully there are temporary life saving signs in Yellow and Black indicating the SPEED LIMITS and other priorities. Please ‘govern’ yourselves; Drive carefully, avoid Speeding and reckless Overtaking. We need you alive to enjoy a proper safe road after decades of driving through cattle tracks.
