Every time you can’t afford to pay your rent, mortgage or power bills and every time you can’t afford to buy food, medicines or fuel, take comfort in the fact that Labor is allowing gas corporations to make $billions more profit by taking our gas free. Nobody left behind ✊

This really hasn't been looked at anywhere near enough. Naveed Akram, the young Bondi gunman allegedly came onto ASIO's radar in Oct 2019 where he was allegedly "monitored" for 6 months. ASIO claims they concluded after 6 short months that he “no longer posed a security threat.” That brings ASIO to March/April 2020 The linked ABC article shows former ASIO head, Dennis Richardson, who recently resigned from the Bondi Royal Commission, indicating to ABC that his resignation was influenced by many factors, including him questioning ASIO’s sudden dropping of Akram’s monitoring. In the beginning of 2020, ASIO was reeling from one of the most significant budget and staffing cuts in its history, implemented by Dennis Richardson's successor, the eternally publicity focused, Mike Burgess. This blood letting of ASIO staff, known as the Red Wedding, saw many experienced ASIO staff leave or take redundancies in and around exactly the same period it was allegedly concluded that Akram was “no longer a threat”. In other words, they simply stopped what they were doing. The time of March/April 2020 is also highly significant for the full throttle impact and uncertainty of Covid as it hit Australia with a bang. Layoffs began, workplaces started entering restrictions and panic set in. Given Dennis Richardson’s recent statements, it’s worth questioning why the very timely and quick conclusion from Oct to March that Naveed Akram simply didn’t need to be monitored or assessed anymore, also happened to occur at the same time of ASIO clearing out so many vital staff with $8.6M in savage budget cuts, as well as the devastating and unprecedented arrival of Covid. abc.net.au/news/2026-04-2…

I am glad the president wasn't killed tonight. Not because I like him. Just because I want to see him lose the midterms and be thrown in prison.

A Farce in Four Acts: 1. Trump skipped the WHCD every single year. 2. Except this one. 3. All of a sudden there’s a shooter in the lobby. 4. Trump: “This shooting is a clear example of why we need a new ballroom!” It hardly gets any dumber than this.

Appalled but not surprised to see govt caving to the gas companies. This just makes me more determined to go harder on our campaign to get a fair return on our gas through a 25% tax on gas export revenue. Head to ourgas.com.au to add your voice. abc.net.au/news/2026-04-2…

“Just do it, and stop the crap.” 💥🔥 You can see why gas giants are worried. When the guy who wrote the book on Australian tax reform calls for a 25% gas export tax this bluntly, it would be gross negligence for the government to ignore it. Thank you, Ken Henry. #auspol

Bridget McKenzie, who resigned in disgrace over Sports Rorts, tells Sunrise that the NDIS will only survive if we “stop the rorting.” Extraordinary hypocrisy. From the same party that left the NDIS without fraud protections for a decade. #auspol

So cowed by the foreign gas lobby .. the failure of successive govts is so epic that the Japanese tax *our* Australian gas more than we tax the foreign multinationals which export the stuff #auspol #TAI michaelwest.com.au/the-gas-tax-ri…

If Jared Kushner is going to play diplomat on behalf of the United States, then he needs to meet the same standards as actual diplomats. That means full disclosure, divestment from foreign financial interests, and a real security vetting process. Instead, we’ve got a guy who couldn’t secure a clearance without intervention, now entangled in billions from Middle Eastern governments, operating with zero transparency. He’s unelected. He’s unconfirmed. And he’s making decisions with global consequences. He’s not there on merit. He’s there because he married into power. That’s not diplomacy. That’s nepotism with a security risk attached.
