Helping us assess what Jamaicans are thinking about monarchy was Barbara Blake-Hannah - the first Black woman to be a reporter on U.K. TV. She was a television pioneer in the 1960s but was forced off TV screens because of racism before her story was widely known.

We’ve been in Jamaica asking people about the Coronation. Widespread disinterest. Most people we spoke to were more interested in the English Premier League this week than the British Royal Family - and feel only one of these U.K. institutions welcomes Black people.
