@lucianaberger I speak purely personally as someone whose partner begged them to end their life despite good palliative care. I accept peers want safeguards, but the sheer volume of unconsolidated amendments isn’t normal. By all means opponents should vote against the Bill, not talk it out.

@charitablemark Please share which ones. The overwhelming majority of amendments that have been tabled have been at the request of external organisations such as the Law Society and the Royal Colleges , to address the legitimate, practical and serious concerns that they have.

I fear the amendments by many peers are not intended to make the Bill safer but are designed to thwart the will of the Commons and the majority of the population by talking it out of time

Supporters of Assisted Dying remain silent on how the Bill should be improved. The proposed amendments are trying to make the Bill safer, informed by medical colleges, professional groups and experts. And yet they are all dismissed. This is not how safe & workable laws are made.

We are enormously sad to see Amanda step down and wish her every success. We hope her successor will continue to prioritise MH not only to support those waiting for treatment but as part of a wider drive to improve the nation’s mental health

A phenomenally decent, smart, values-driven woman. Very sad news after Amanda has achieved so much through some of the NHS’s toughest times. Resolutely NHS. She will have a great future ahead of her but I hope she has a rest first.

I’m finding the NHS App such a wonderful tool in my interactions with staff whilst an impatient here @GSTTnhs . I hadn’t realised how extensive the data is. It’s been transformative and will help make my discharge better for me and the hospital. Analogue to digital in action!
