韓国語 tokki「斧」< LMK twoskwuy は、後部要素として EMdK cakwuy「手斧」に対応するものを含む複合語か。前部要素を LMK twolh「石」とする先行研究もあるが、これはちょっと怪しい。

日本語の kasikô- は、かなり早い時代から「偉大」と「怜悧」両方の意味で使われているという点が uma- と共通しているので、ô の部分はやはり *uma に由来するんだろうなと思う。
kasik- に関しては、指示詞語根の形容詞形で、強調を表す可能性もありそう。

*uma > *u̯a の立場からは、 *pasiki-ayasi "愛らしく特別な" > はしけ甲やし pasikêyasi のように、 *kasiki-umasi "賢明で偉大な" > かしこ甲し kasikôsi (cf. ?*sa-kasi- > sakasi-) を想定できるかもしれない。

My original comment regarding Proto-Korean was to say that it should have been placed farther north, perhaps centered at modern-day Liaoning, at least for the earlier half of the 1st millennium BCE.

@cobbaltt There is simply not enough evidence to conclude that the two languages are related, the supposed date of 3500 BP is far too shallow.
From toponyms recorded in contemporaneous Chinese sources, we can tell that the Koreanization of the peninsula was largely complete by 3rd c. CE,

Proto-Korean confined to the northern half of the Korean peninsula throughout (almost) the entire first millennium BCE is demonic, let alone the treatment of Cheju and the Ryukyus which is based on pure imagination (like, what makes them believe Cheju was Koreanized that early?)
