@AlistairCarns had a distinguished military career. Same is happening in Cornwall. In fact, a builder told me yesterday, its now such a problem in Cornwall, that they cant actually sell properties off plan to pay for the new builds because nobody wants to buy a new build where hundreds of migrants are being housed. A lot of building has been halted because they're not being sold.

As an Irish woman, I never thought I'd reach the point where I feel nervous walking alone, hiking alone, or constantly looking over my shoulder. I used to consider myself quite liberal. I believed the concerns many people raised about immigration were over exaggerated. Then I was accosted by a man who was in the country illegally while working out in my local gym. It shook me enough that I stopped going and invested in gym equipment for my home instead. That isn't normal. Women should be able to exercise, walk, and enjoy their communities without feeling unsafe or having to change their lives because they no longer feel protected. You can disagree with me politically all you want, but you can't tell me my experience didn't happen. Unfortunately, I'll never feel as safe as I did before that day. The Ireland I grew up in felt safer than the Ireland I see today, and that genuinely saddens me.
