Not a blog. A lab. A company. DroidKernel is where it starts. droidkernel.com

@paladuv Exactly the issue. What used to be a typing tool is becoming another checkpoint in Microsoft’s ecosystem strategy.

@droidkernel Basically they are asking you to bend over so they can ram it up there. Good luck with that

I’ve been trying Copilot Tasks this week, and it’s awesome to assign tasks (even recurring) in this cowork mode and have them completed end to end autonomously and use Agent mode to refine and iterate on the outputs. A couple of examples ...

This is what happens when marketing victims try to talk software architecture. Absolutely no one is building iOS apps 'using the XNU kernel.' Developers are confined to a locked-down, high-level sandbox, completely blocked from touching the core. Bragging about PC-grade processors while defending an OS that treats you like a toddler is a special kind of tragedy. You have desktop-class silicon trapped inside a Fisher-Price environment that outright forbids you from managing root files, writing raw C to explore the actual system architecture, or executing true, multi-window multitasking. Calling a nerfed, mobile-only interface a 'genuine experience' is terminal copium. You don't own a powerful pocket computer; you own a $1,200 gilded cage. Keep aggressively defending the walls while the rest of us do actual computing on an unrestricted Linux core.

Instead of immediately linking the issue to macOS, I could have said this: with mobile applications developed using the XNU open-source kernel on iPhones, you can pay attention to the hardware-level compatibility of an application. Also, there's a reality with iPhones: while things like DeX try to give the interface a computer feel, iPhone processors are even used in computers. The robust software compatibility is based on XNU. This is the difference with Apple; they already produce phones more powerful than many PCs, and even have parts that work compatibly with PCs, both in terms of software and hardware. Therefore, Apple focuses on a genuine device experience, not a fake desktop experience.
